According to Auntie Muni, the proprietor of the establishment, the former president visits the joint every Sunday even when he was president and it does not look like he would stop anytime soon now that he is a private citizen.
Aunty Muni also lists the children of former president John Kufuor, radio and television personalities and actors as some of her regulars.
Auntie Muni began operations in Accra two decades ago after she separated from her husband back in hometown Tamale in the Northern Region
In Tamale, she sold banku and beans. She had initially joined a relative in Accra who was into the waakye business but she left and Auntie Muni took over from her.
Based in Labone, Auntie Muni’s joint has been featured in pop culture; including songs and adverts.
