BNI CID prepare docket regarding Dumelo's "stolen" V8s

According to Mr. Mr Kwame Baffoe, supervisor of President Akufo-Addo's Asset Retrieval Task Force, officers of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and the Ghana Police Service's Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are in the process of preparing a docket regarding the famous actor's alleged theft of two V8 Land Cruisers.

“…The CID, the BNI are holding a docket on that and at the appropriate time, he will be arraigned before court and he should be charged for theft because this is a criminal offence,” said Mr Baffoe.

Mr. Baffoe stated that the Task Force was alerted by an unnamed informer that John Dumelo was in possession of what could be a state vehicle. Stated that they approached the owner of the mechanical shop where it was being touched up and he confirmed that the vehicle indeed was brought in by Mr. Dumelo.

“Then we approached John Dumelo, the chassis number and everything clearly show that the Government of Ghana is the importer of the vehicle in question. Then we called Dumelo [and asked him] who gave the vehicle to him, he mentioned the former First Lady’s name and then I said whether it has been transferred in his name or not we need the documents because there are so many vehicles that have been sold out and, if, indeed, it formed part of the vehicles that have been sold out, he should give us the documents.

According to the firebrand New Patriotic Party official, John Dumelo stated the he did not possess any of the vehicles paperwork since it was not sold to him. He {Mr. Dumelo) stated that the vehicle had been given to him by the former First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, a detail that the actor has forever denied ever since news of the incident went public.

We are having all the documents concerning the car in question,” Mr Baffoe stated, speaking on Joy FM on Thursday March 30th.

Mr. Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has stated that 17 tipper trucks and bulldozers belonging to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development have also been retrieved. He further hinted that by Friday 31st, 14 more vehicles will be located and retrived.
