President Akufo-Addo as part of his three-day tour of the Ashanti Region, has called on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
At the meeting, the president assured the Asantehene of his dedication to handle all acts of lawlessness and violence in the country.
He also apologized to the Asante king for the actions by the vigilante group affiliated with the New Patriotic Party, the Delta Force, for their recent actions where they stormed the Ashanti Regional Security premises and attacked the security coordinator, George Adjei.
According to report by Classfmonline.com, the president assured that under his government, such disregard of the laws of the land will not be ignored and has expressed full commitment to handling the issue.
"There are a few things, Delta [Force] and other issues that are unpleasant, but we are working to deal with those issues to ensure peace and understanding in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, and the whole country
I will not ignore such issues. The law applies to everyone in Ghana. I know it is of concern to you, but do not worry, we will ensure that everything is resolved," President Akufo-Addo said.
President Akufo-Addo during his tour, will thank the people of Asanteman for their immense support during the 2016 elections, and thank the Asantehene for supporting as well.
The visit will also feature trips to the Kumasi Central market and other key areas in the region, as the president hopes to establish a deeper connection with the citizenry.
He plans to implement these visits more into his administration, by spending a weekend in every region during his time in office.
