Ace Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama Mcbrown says it is unwise for women to invest in Brazilian hair at the expense of growing their business.
Addressing female students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi on Friday, the “Kumahood” actress said there is no point in spending on expensive products as a woman when you can start a small business with that money.
The 43-year-old star also advised the students to use their money wisely on things that will bring returns.
“You don’t have to always depend on your parents for monies, what becomes of you if they die? you can start business with your mobile phones, you can do business after lectures, use the Brazilian or Peruvian money to start your own enterprise, what is the point in spending GHC1,000-GHC1,500 on wigs?, you could be venturing into hairdressing, blogging, dressmaking or even bead making by selling your products on online with your phones which will fetch you lots of money. Be serious with your studies and use social media to get money as well, there is nothing wrong combining studies with business,” she admonished.
Nana Ama was speaking at the 2017 edition of the Starr Woman Project, sponsored by Access Bank’s W Initiative (Inspiring, Connecting, and Empowering) and Marie Stopes Ghana.
The project which seeks to empower young women urged the students to desist from impressing people by leaving beyond their means.
