The Asantehene has adopted an Indian into the Ashanti Kingdom and YEN has her new name

The king of the Asantes, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has adopted a female Indian monk into his kingdom and bestowed upon her, the name of one of the most important women of the soil, Yaa Asantewaa.

According to Sri Jayanthi Kumaraswani who was speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr show, she was taken in as a daughter of the Kingdom on Saturday April 1, 2017 when she visited the esteemed monarch.

She said, “Asantehene gave me the name Yaa Asantewaa on Saturday 1st April” adding “On my visit to Kumasi he (Asantehene) adopted me as a daughter of the Ashanti Kingdom.”

Kumaraswani who is one of the few female monks of her country revealed that she decided to devote her life in a monastery when she realised at age 11 that she could accurately predict the future.

Having grown up in the Southern part of India, the clairvoyant monk revealed she now travels the world trying to demystify the mysticism that is associated with the activities of monks said they are as human as anyone.
