- A bizarre video of baby turtle with two heads and six legs has emerged
-The extremely strange creature was reportedly found in a Chinese pet store
- Despite it's condition, the baby turtle can still walk and eat. What the experts have to say
A really weird baby turtle with two heads and three sets of legs has been found in a Chinese pet store with many other turtles.
The extremely strange creature was reportedly spotted in Shanxi Province, north China and captured in a video.
The footage shows the two-headed and six-legged little turtle move around and even eats just like any other normal turtle.
"All the legs are moving and all the eyes are blinking. It eats normally and I believe this baby turtle is about two to three months," says its owner, only identified as MrWang.
MrWang reveals that he found the two-headed creature after buying a box of red-eared sliders from a wholesale market on March 29. The baby turtle, he says, was among the other turtles.
The extraordinary discovery has attracted many people to his shop. Most of them say they had never seen the turtle with two heads.
Researchers from Shanxi Medicine and Life Science Academy say the turtle's' condition was caused by genetic mutation.
The researchers are also of the view that the mutation was triggered by water pollution.
Though a red-eared slider turtle can usually live for 50-70 years, according to the experts, nobody knows for sure how long the mutant turtle will last.
