Mr. Mustapha Hamid, President Nana Akufo Addo's spokesperson who doubles as the Information Minister, has revealed that Ministers who don't perform well will be marked red.

Information Minister stated that during the cabinet's three-day retreat at the Peduase Lodge President Akufo-Addo revealed his vision for the country to all Ministers.

Hon. Hamid stated that Ministers in President Akufo-Addo's administration have been given specific performance targets by which they will be assessed during their times in office. Hon. Hamid also mentioned that the Monitoring and Evaluation Minister, Dr. Akoto Osei, indicated that he was determined to make sure all ministers are held accountable to their targets.

According to Hon. Hamid, Dr. Akoto Osei had devised a three-color grading system by which he would be grading all ministers.

If a minister failed to achieve a specific target, that minister would receive a red mark for that target. Where measures have been taken towards the achievement of a specific target, the minister receives a yellow mark. Finally, when a target has been achieved by a minister, that minister will receive a blue mark.

President Akufo-Addo address the media after three retreat

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Tuesday, Hon. Hamid stated that President Akufo -Addo will keep an eagle eye on his minister's performance, and that he - Nana Addo - intended to make these retreats to assess his government's performance a regular affair.

Information Minister Hamid stated that he believed that a minister's ability to remain in office may depend on how many blue (or red) markers that minister received.
