Ghanaians have a reputation for hospitality that continues to confound many across the world, especially tourists who visit the country.
Through the love and care that they show to strangers, Ghanaians have helped to dispel certain negative stereotypes about Africans.
One would expect that Ghanaians would continue to be good ambassadors for the country, especially when they travel abroad.
That is not what a 31-year-old Ghanaian man based in Germany has chosen to do, however, YEN.com.gh understands.
According to reports in the German press, the man, an asylum seeker in the European country, forced himself on (rap*d) a 23-year-old lady in the presence of her boyfriend.
He reportedly used a machete to threaten the young couple, before forcing himself on the lady.
The unnamed Ghanaian man is said to have fled after committing the act while the victim's boyfriend called the police and the lady was taken to the hospital.
Police later tracked and arrested the Ghanaian.
DNA testing is said to have put him at the scene of the crime.
Police spokesman Robert Scholten is quoted by the German media as saying: “Apart from the rape itself, we also found lots of DNA samples at the scene, which clearly belong to the detained person."
