Following the clash of Dagomba and Kokomba residents at Agbogbloshie in Accra, a security analyust, Patrick Nene Sogbodzor, is calling for the relocation of residents in the vicinity.
The clash is feared to have claimed the lives of two persons with a pregnant woman confirmed to be in a critical condition. There was heavy military presence at the area as police resorted to tear gas to disperse the angry crowd.
“One has to go into history to find why there is no peace between them (Konkombas and Dagombas),” he argued.
The clash at Agbogbloshie raises questions of the proliferation of illegal arms by residents in Accra – a development which raises concerns over the nature of security in the area.
So far, YEN gathers that the cause of the clash was due to some political tensions in the area after the 2016 elections which saw the NDC kicked out of power.
