Following the recent worrying ethnic clashes at Agbogbloshie, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) is calling for a relocation of all residents from the conflicted zone of Old Fadama.
According to COP David Asante Apeatu, this drastic measure will to a large extent ensure the safety of residents and also boost security across the capital city of Accra.
“It is not very easy at all to gather the intelligence that we may require. We are aware that some crimes are being committed in there and it is such a difficult terrain it is for us to ensure that the people are relocated. With intelligence, we may gather but for 100 percent, we are unable to achieve. These are some of the lapses in intelligence gathering that occasionally we encounter,” he revealed in a press conference.
YEN earlier reported that the clash between Dagombas and Kukumbas is feared to have claimed the lives of two persons with a pregnant woman confirmed to be in a critical condition as heavy military presence stations at the area to enforce and maintain peace.
