Member of parliament for Domi Kwabenya, Adwoa Sarfo has put a challenge before President Akufo-Addo to purchase her father’s made in Ghana vehicles as exemplified by the the Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II.
The special customised four wheel drive vehicles manufactured by the MP’s father's company, the Kantanka Automobile Company have been on the market for more than a year now and Ghanaians are now being encouraged to buy into the locally manufactured cars.
Taking delivery of one of the vehicles from the company under Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana in Kumasi on Wednesday, the Asantehene advised government to promote the local industry.
He said if it was possible, Ghana should avoid the importation of cars from outside the country and rather help promote and market the local Kantanka cars whose brand matches other international brands worldwide.
Meanwhile, in a post on social media, the daughter of Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo; Adwoa Sarfo encouraged Ghanaians to follow in the King's stead and purchase more made in Ghana goods, adding that the President was next.
The president has yet to make any reference to the Kantanka group and the good job they are doing in industralising the nation in their own way.
