- NPP abandons loyal party supporter after a tragic accident during the 2016 campaign

- Hardi Akalifa, a father of two has been left to his faith at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital

- Despite the alleged neglect, he proudly still wears an NPP-branded wristlet, saying he has not regretted being a member of the NPP

Thirty four year old Hardi Akalifa, a staunch supporter of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been totally forgotten by his party after he unfortunately lost one of his legs during a campaign rally at Bawku in 2016.

According to a Starr News report Akalifa, has been on admission at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital, confined to a bed after a tissue of his left leg was removed and transplanted to the affected leg to replace the protective covering of skin lost in that gory accident.

He told the reporter is only the parliamentary candidate, Madam Gabiana, who visits him. “… The last time, she came and gave me Gh¢100. I have brothers who are not well to do but have stood by me since the day the accident happened six months ago,” Mr. Akalifa told Starr News.

Mr. Akalifa was sitting behind on a motorbike doing NPP campaigning and activities when a pickup reportedly ran into him from behind after bursting a tyre.

The accident happened whilst firebrand lawmaker, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, was addressing a rally at the campaign launch of the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the Bawku Central Constituency, Agbanwa Gabiana Abugri, on Saturday November 5, 2016.
