- Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has been to EOCO's office three times this week

Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram constituency, Hon. Sam Narthey George, has debunked popuar reports purporting that Mr. Ibrahim Mahama brother of former president Mahama, has relinquished his passport to the Economic and Organized Crime Office.
Over the last weeks Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, who is also the proprietor of a construction company called Engineers and Planners, has had three encounters with EOCO. With lack of any public comment directly from EOCO, rumour has naturally gone rife with all kinds of allegations.
According to popular reports, Mr. Mahama’s convocation to EOCO’s offices has been in regards to dud checks he allegedly issued to the Ghana Revenue Authority in connection to certain imports he may have made.
Recent reports had it that the business may been has to present his passport to EOCO, while subsequent ones suggested that said passport was later seized.

MP for Ningo-Prampram constituency, Hon. Sam George, speaking in an interview has debunked reports alleging that Mr. Ibrhim Mahama’s passport has been seized, saying that such a person couldn’t be seen as a flight risk.
"When he went to EOCO on Wednesday, EOCO made a copy of the data page of his passport, his passport is still in his possession. Ibrahim is not a flight risk, someone who owns a cement factory and owns the kind of businesses that he owns in this country cannot be deemed to be a flight risk and so we should stop this sensationalism," said Sam George.
