Campbell Walker-Field sang on America’s Got Talent and captivated the judges and audience not only by his beautiful voice.
The 14-year-old contestant also won their hearts with his emotional story. Campbell had been adopted by two strong dads.
He has never seen his mother, who had found herself unable to raise all her children. The teenage boy had three older siblings.
For the popular talent competition, Campbell decided to dedicate his performance to his mother, even though she had put him up for adoption.
He sang “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, an emotional song that conveys his love for the woman who gave birth to him but whom he hasn’t met.
“I have died every day waiting for you/Darling don’t be afraid/I have loved you for a thousand years/I love you for a thousand more,” he sang.
Campbell couldn’t hide his emotion as he sang the song’s soft melody. He wanted his mother to hear him singing.
The talented boy received a loud applause and standing ovation after his performance.
Campbell showed the world that love should prevail over hate. Even if his mother gave him to strangers when he was a baby, his love for her remains.
