With barely five months into Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s presidency, the opposition National Democratic Congress has stated that the NPP lead does not need four years in powers.
The rather bold statement was made by the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho.
The NDC scribe believes that the efforts by the New Patriotic Party government to stop galamsey would only create more problems for Ghana. Anyidoho predicted that the current steps to stop galamsey would lead to a sharp increase in youth unemployment in Ghana.
Nana Addo and the NPP have vowed to curb illegal mining in Ghana.
One of the most recent steps taken by the government in his direction was the destruction of some tractors reportedly used by the artisanal miners in Ghana.
Despite these steps Koku Anyidoho indicated that President Nana Addo is indeed not ready for the presidency.
“He [President Nana Addo] has already said he careless if they vote him out because of galamsey issues. I am not surprised”, he stated.
He continued that, “Nana Addo does not need eight years, he doesn’t even need four years. He just wanted to taste the presidency and he has achieved that.”
