- The MP for Juaben Constituency has been accused of staying away from her constituents
- The NPP youth in the area have accused her declining invites to social events without any proper reasons
The Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region has been thrown into a state of disarray after some reports that the local Member of Parliament had gone missing.
The lawmaker, Ama Pomaa Boateng Ando, has reportedly not being seen in the locality after assuming office as the MP.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth in the area have complained after having invited the MP to several event which she has declined.
The MP reportedly turns down social functions in the constituency and to some extent disregard party program activities at constituency and regional levels without any justification.
Speaking with the Kumasi-based radio station, Sikka FM, one of the concerned NPP-youth stated that she “...does not come for funerals; engage us on programmes and activities in the area and others”.
They also accused her of “constantly changing numbers” in an attempt to avoid the constant badgering from the NPP youth.
The youth therefore called on her to change her attitude else she should forget to run on the party’s ticket come 2020.
“Even the President who is representing everybody had time to come but our MP will always give excuses to honour invites. Well four years is not four decades”, a livid youth leader stated.
In Ghana, an MP is somehow expected to be closer to his/her constituency and the behaviour of the accused MP is quite different from the norm.
