According to the NDC stalwart, he believed his party had done everything possible to fulfil the needs of Ghanaians and was totally surprised when the electorate voted them out of power.

Speaking with the Accra-based radio station, CITI FM, Rashid Pelpuo defended former president John Mahama against remarks that he (Mahama) caused the party’s loss.

“This is one of the elections that have been very difficult and mysterious to understand,” he stated.

Mr. Pelpuo’s comments are contrary to John Mahama assertions that he deserved all blame for the party’s defeat.

He also stated that current president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo fed Ghanaians “rosy” promises.

After the outcome of the 2016 Elections, the NDC set up a committee to investigate the cause of their abysmal performance. The committee is yet to release it reports.
