- President Akufo-Addo has summed Otiko Djaba and Bugri Naabu to the Flagstaff House for engaging in a public spat
- The two top NPP members have been fighting since Friday
- President reportedly feels that their conduct does not reflect well on the government
YEN.com.gh understands that President Nana Akufo-Addo has summoned Bugri Naabu and Otiko Dbaja to the Flagstaff House for verbally attacking each other publicly.
Naabu, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional chairman, and Djaba, the gender minister, have subjected each other to vicious verbal attacks since Friday.
Sources say the president has had enough and has summoned them to explain their conduct, which the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has seized upon to ridicule the government.
The disagreement began on Friday when Naabu led a group of women to disrupt a meeting Djaba was holding in Tamale.
Naabu claimed Djaba did not inform him before convening the meeting, adding that even the president would not have done so.
Djaba is said to have angrily blasted what she called Naabu's attention-seeking attitude.
She is said to have then accused the NPP region chairman of collecting goats and sheep from people in Tamale in return for securing government appointments for them.
An angry Naabu then escalated the dispute, accusing Djaba of being a lesbian and playing a role in the murder of the late NPP Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama.
“…Otiko has been a controversial woman in the party. As I’m telling you, this Adams issue, she was deeply involved.
“You’ll be surprised that some of these people who masterminded the killing of Adams have come to take positions in the government … like the Upper East Regional Minister. He was deeply involved in the masterminded killing of Adams,” he said.
Reports say Akufo-Addo is not impressed with their conduct, which he feels does not reflect well on the government.
