- The Queen of Great Britain, 91, was spotted driving from church
- She is known for her love of driving
- Her husband announced last week that he will retire from royal duties later this year
In a sign that she is not slowing down any time soon, 91-year-old Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain was spotted driving home from church on Sunday, May 7.
The Queen had attended church service at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Park and was seen in a sleek Jaguar accompanied by a security guard.
She is well known for her love of driving and is often seen driving around her Sandringham estate.
Her love for driving and cars is believed to have taken root when she was serving as a mechanic in the Women’s Auxillary Territorial Service during World War II.
She enjoys driving quintessential British car brands such as Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover. She is also the only person in the UK allowed to drive without a license.
However, she is usually chauffeur-driven during official Royal functions. She was seen last week being driven from a function at Leicester Cathedral together with her husband, Prince Philip.
95-year-old Prince Philip, who is also the Duke of Edinburgh, announced last week that he will retire from Royal public duties later this year.
