- Former Trade Minister Spio-Garbrah has given president Mahama his vote of confidence
- He said that the former head of state has extraordinary leadership skills

Former Trade Minister, Dr. Ekow Spio Garbrah has said that history will judge former president John Dramani Mahama favorably because he performed credibly during his time in office.
Although former president Mahama lost the previous general elections to President Akufo Addo and became the first president to lose his second elections, according to Dr. Spio-Garbrah, the former head of state can still hold his head high.
Speaking on Radio XYZ, the former Trade Minister still gave former president Mahama his vote of confidence.
“He did his best for Ghana and I’m sure history will judge him more favorably,” said the former CEO of the Commonwealth Trade Organisation.

Dr. Spio-Garbrah, who used to be former president Mahama's boss when he [Mahama] was at the Ministry of Communication, eventually served under President Mahama back in the year 2012. He lauded former president Mahama's leadership skills and stated that the former head of state "had extraordinary leadership skills".
“He said Mahama is a very quiet and not particularly extravagant in his dealings. He really had his hands on top of every subject matter. He is a student of history and used that to his strength and was very good at extempore... He was good at bringing people together,” Dr. Spio-Garbrah stated.
Dr. Spio-Garbrah's comment's echo that of Mr. Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide. Mr. Baako stated that former president Mahama is the NDC's best bet for the 2020 general elections.
