- Oxzy FM's CEO realized a front office sofa went missing from the station's premises
- He therefore suspended almost the entire staff force
- He's said staff will remain on suspension until the sofa is located
CEO of Oxzy FM, Mr Alfred Larbi, has suspended a large portion of his staff over a front office sofa that has somehow gone missing from the radio station's premises.
For the past ten days or so listeners of Oxzy FM 98.5 have probably been wondering if the station's programming has gone on test transmission after a decade of operation. Other than music and general advertising, the station seems to have gone all but silent.
Alas, the truth of it isn't all that simple. According to reports, the station's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Alfred Larbi, has suspended most of the staff force due to a missing front office sofa. This means 14 radio presenters including 4 newscasters, and six attachment students have all been benched due to this issue.

Other than a few DJs who are allowed to come in and play music and to fulfill the station's obligations to advertisers, everyone else has been directed to stay away from the stations premises. Even the DJs that come in have been all but gagged, not uttering so much as a word on-air.
Relating the issue to the Graphic Showbiz, Mr. Larbi said that after going to Kwahu for three days, he came to the office only to find that the sofa was missing.
Mr. Larbi stated that what annoyed him the most and prompted his decision was the fact that staff didn't seem to care about the sofa's disappearance until he asked for it.

“Initially, the workers thought I was kidding when I told them to find the chair or they go on suspension.
“I joke with them a lot but I had to stand my grounds to take this decision for the welfare of the station”, he said..
Mr. Larbi, who also doubles as one of the Station's DJs, said that this is not the first time it's happened. He recounted how a stand-by generator also went missing.
Responding to a question regarding the availability of night watchmen and guards, Mr. Larbi said he wasn't willing to put the blame solely on the security staff. This is why he suspended almost everyone.
He also expressed that his decision to suspend staff has to do with wanting to instill a little discipline in his employees.
“I know people will say I am being mean to ask about 20 people to stay away just because of a common chair but if I don’t put a stop to it now who knows what next will vanish from the station”.
Responding to comments about his losing revenue over his decision to suspend his staff, Mr. Larbi stated that he didn't regret the decision.
"...until I get the chair back the presenters, newscasters and the attachment students will still be on suspension".
