Sports journalist, Christopher Opoku, dead after surviving cancer

Reports reaching YEN.com.gh have it that Ghanaian journalist Christopher Opoku has passed away.

The ace sports journalist was in the news recently after pictures of him looking thinner than usual appeared on social media.

The news of the journalist death broke on social media when it was reported by his journalist colleagues.

After recovering from his cancer attack, the journalist posted a memoir on his Facebook account in which he revealed that he had suffered from "rectal cancer".

After posting the testimony on Facebook in 2013 about his near death experience with cancer, Christopher was back on air actively doing what he loves best – commenting and reporting on sports events.

Prior to his death, Christopher Opoku was the administrative manager of Ghana League Clubs Association.

Chris was married with three daughters and had a long experience in both radio and television as morning show host.

The late journalist is best known for his quality sports presenting and has been hailed by some as Ghana’s finest football commentator on television.
