NPP reprimands Otiko, Bugri and have asked them to sign bond of good behaviour

- The NPP national council has ordered reprimanded Otiko and Bugri Naabu

- The council also asked all party executives who hold appointments in the Akufo-Addo government to resign from their party positions immediately

The national council meeting of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Wednesday expressed strong disapproval at the actions and utterances of the party’s national women’s organiser and the Northern regional chairman.

The party reprimanded the duo - Otiko Djaba and Bugri Naabu over the exchange of words in public.

The meeting also ordered all party executives who hold ministerial appointments to resign from their party positions. This directive means gender minister Otiko Djaba must resign her party position.

Even though the two apologised profusely, the meeting severely reprimanded them and bonded them to be of good behaviour. They were also asked to put their apologies into written statements,” a statement issued by the acting General Secretary of the party John Boadu after the meeting announced.

All Party Office holders (elected or appointed) who have second executive positions in government should vacate their Party positions for substantive officers appointed to fill in,” the statement added.

The two top NPP officials clashed on Friday after Bugri Naabu disrupted a meeting being held by Otiko in the Northern region of Ghana. This led to the two exchanging words publicly amidst wild allegations against each other.

They have both apologised over the public outburst however.
