Police have arrested a chief and four others at Sewfi-Anhwiaso in the Western Region for allegedly killing a 68-year-old retired teacher, Samuel Benson Kwakye.
The five - Nana Donkor, the Abakomahene of the Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Yaw Adu, Kwaku Ntim, aka Killer, Kofi Nnuro and Kofi Jamal, aka Attah - face charges of murder, according to the police.
Police say do not yet know why the five men committed the act.
They said they received information late Thursday that Kwakye went to the farm that morning and did not return home.
The police led a search team to the farm only to discover him dead on the farm.
They later received information that two suspects – Adu Yaw, and Kwaku Ntim, aka Killer – were behind the murder.
The two suspects are said to have fled the town to Agona Asaman in the Ashanti Region, but the police managed to arrest them.
During interrogation, they reportedly mentioned that Nana Donkor, the chief, was the one who hired them and two others to murder the retired teacher.
They five were being held in police custody in preparation for trial at the time of reporting.
