YEN.com.gh can confirm that the director of quality assurance at the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has been fired by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to a letter sighted by one MyNewsGH.com the director, Mr. Anthony Gingong, was asked to proceed on an indefinite leave from work.

The letter, dated May 9, 2017, was signed by the president’s secretary, Nana Asante Bediatuo and also asked the Mr. Gingong to handover all property of the authority to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The directive expected him to vacate office by close of Monday May 15, 2017.
Gingong, a well known National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart, won a shot for the Bunkprugu constituency seat in the the party’s primaries in 2016.
He however, lost his bid for parliament to the New Patriotic Party’s Solomon Boar in the 2016 General Elections.
