The New Patriotic Party made this known at the opening of new medical facility for public use on Wednesday, 17th April.
The 420-bed capacity state of the art facility was opened by the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu. Speaking at the ceremony, he hailed the late John Evans Atta Mills and former president John Mahama.
He said Ghana was “indeed grateful” to the duo for initiating and “ the construction of the first phase of the hospital.”
Kwaku Agyemang-Manu in his address also lauded former President John Rawlings who constructed the main OPD block of the Ridge Hospital in the year 2000.
During the campaign buildup to the 2016 General Elections, the then opposition leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was very vocal against the then NDC government for allegedly inflating the cost of the project.
According to Nana Addo, the Mahama-led government had inflated the cost of the project by at least $142 million.
Thus, the NPP’s stance now that the party is in power had surprised many people.
