- Chairman Wontumi has responded to NDC Minority's comments regarding the release of 8 Delta Force Members
- He says the Minority Leader is using this scandal to boost his popularity in light of the NDC's upcoming flag bearer elections
Firebrand Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, A.K.A Chairman Wontumi, has viciously responded to parliament's Minority Leader regarding the recent release of 8 Delta Force Members.
“If Haruna Iddrisu does not shut up, I will expose him badly…I don’t like hypocrites,” said the ruling party's Ashanti Regional Chairman
According to Mr. Boasiako, Member of Parliament for the Tamale South Constituency, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu is currently using the Delta Force 8 release issue in order to outshine former president Mahama.
“Where was Haruna Iddrisu when Mahama and his ministers conspired to release the Montie 3 from prison after they were sentenced.”
“I am reliably informed that about twenty people wish to contest the NDC elections and Haruna is using this delta force issue to enhance his chances.”

He [Mr. Boasiako] is of the opinion that the Tamale South legislator - who is also parliament's Minority Leader - is trying to pad his portfolio in light of the looming National Democratic Congress' looming flag-bearer elections.
Mr. Boasiako related that according to him, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu as a lawyer ought to have understood the circumstances surrounding the Delta Force 8's charges dismissal.
“I am very much disappointed in Haruna Iddrisu, he is a very big hypocrite,” he said, and went on to add that, “Haruna is an honorable member of parliament and his behavior must reflect his status.”
Following reports that the Delta Force 8 were dismissed, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu condemned the move, and further demanded that government re-arrest the group and have them face the law without political considerations.
