- Rev. Owusu Bempah has defended Prof. Martey's assertions that it is too early to judge Akufo-Addo's government
- He called critics of the new government 'unwise and irrational'
- He believes with patience, Ghanaians will adjudge Nana Addo as the best president the country ever had
Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, the founder and leader of the Glorious Word Ministry International, has dismissed all criticisms of the Akufo-Addo administration.
According to Owusu Bempah, who was defending Prof. Martey's remarks that it was too early to judge the progress of the new government, stated the economy was quite unstable when the NPP came into power, as such all critics of their work are 'irrational.'
"I support Professor Martey, he did not insult anyone and as such he should not apologize. Those criticizing the Nana Addo led government are unwise and irrational because it is too early for criticisms. It is not even one year, it is barely six months since Nana Addo became President so we should give him time to work and I know God will see him through," he said on Accra FM's morning show.
Rev. Owusu Bempah further stated their defense was not to suggest they would not condemn the government if the changes promised were not fulfilled, but that it was only a few months into the new government's term, hence too soon to judge.
He said the opposition NDC who are now criticizing the Akufo-Addo government, were the ones who caused the damage to the country, as such they should put their criticisms on hold since there is nothing for them to judge as yet.
"Ghanaians who voted for Nana Addo are not criticizing him because they know he needs time to work so let's leave Ghanaians to be the judges. We have given him four years, let us be patient and I can I assure you that, Nana Addo will be the best President Ghana has ever had," Owusu Bempah added.
Rev. Owusu Bempah's comments follow the assertions made by the former moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Prof Emmanuel Martey who lambasted all critics of the new government.
According to Rev. Martey, those judging Akufo-Addo and his progress failed to solve the country's during their 8 years in power, hence had no business jumping to criticize him so quickly.
