According to Myjoyonline, the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning in Danyame, a suburb of Kumasi, the regional capital of the Ashanti Region. Initial reports have it that the incident was aided by the fact that the police officer who was supposed to be on guard duty outside the Judge's residence was not at his post.

Mr. Erasmus Donkor, Joy News' Ashanti Regional Correspondent, stated that among the stolen items were laptops, very important documents, and an undisclosed amount of money.

The residence is secluded building in this area,” noted Erastus. Joy News's correspondent also said that a razor blade had been utilized to cut open mosquito netting that covers the window of the house boy's room.
