John Mahama sends his heartfelt condolences to family of murdered military officer

John Dramani Mahama, the former president of the Republic of Ghana has expressed his condolences to the family of the lynched military man.

News broke on Monday that one Captain Maxwell Adams Mahama of the Ghana Army was lynched by some angry residents in the Central Region.

The officer, of the 5 Infantry Battalion, was on his morning exercise routine when he was unfortunately jumped.

According to some reports, the military man went jogging with a gun and the youth of the area mistook him for a robber and subsequently attacked him.

However, other reports say that the military man was attacked and killed by the youth for protecting galamseyers in the area.

Mahama, in a post on his official Twitter page, consoled the wife of the deceased and his children.

And my condolences to the wife of Capt. Maxwell Mahama, his young children & to his mother on the loss of her only son. #RestinPeaceMaxwell”, he tweeted.

He added, “My heart goes out to my brother, Capt. Chubby Adam Mahama (Rtd.) on the murder of his son, Capt. Maxwell Mahama. #RestinPeaceMaxwell.

Some military men have been deployed to the area pending investigations of the circumstances leading to the death of Captain Mahama.
