Angry "military officials" allegedly attack residents of Tontokrom

Residents of Tontokrom, a small town in the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region are reported to have been attacked by a group of soldiers.

According to reports, some army personnel believed to be members in of the Ghana Armed Forces invaded the town and beat up residents without any provocation.

The incident is believed to have sparked fear in the area, leading to majority of the indigenes fleeing the town.

Angry "military officials" allegedly attack residents of Tontokrom

Many residents are also reported to have sustained various injuries, with two of them particularly in critical condition.

However, in an interview with the Ultimate FM, the Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Armed Forces Col. Aggrey Quarshie said the military was yet to be made aware of such a development.

He added that investigations will commence into the matter to know the next line of action.
