Tuesday dawn heavy downpour in parts of the Greater Accra Region, especially Tema, Sakumono-Klagon and its environ has resulted in flood.
The flood apart from destroying people's homes also cut prevented workers and school children in their areas from going about their daily activities.
The rains which began at dawn caused a lot of damage but the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) says the extent of the damage is not known immediately.
Meanwhile, the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) says it is going to begin the process of pulling down buildings and shops built on waterways in the area.
According to the Metropolitan Chief Executive Felix Mensah Nii Annang-La, nobody or property in waterway will be spared.
He noted that some of the flooded areas are not flood-prone but attributed the current development to what he described as “lawless manner in which people are putting up buildings on waterways”.
