Major Mahama is being laid to rest today, Friday June 9th amidst tight security by the armed forces and also high attendance by family, friends and the general public.
The wake of the fallen soldier, which took place on Thursday night, saw mourners pay their final respect to Major Mahama who got killed and brutalized by an angry mob at Denkyira-Obuase while he was embarking on his morning jog.
YEN had earlier reported over 200 soldiers are expected to line up across the major streets of Accra (Precisely from the state house to military cemetery pay) as they pay him his last respects today.

The vigil of the late Major turned very sour when a college of his took to a flute and whistled his way through the emotional path of how much he misses him and wishes him well in this new life called death.
A sad and heart piercing tribute was also read in honour of the fallen soldier by the operations officer at the 5 Infantry Battalion who revealed how important Major Mahama remains an important soul in the army.
