The late Captain Maxwell Mahama has been laid in state at the State House in Accra ahead of his burial at the military section of the Osu Cemetery in Accra.
Mourners have been filing past the remains the late soldier and paying their last respects to him since morning.
The coffin of Major Mahama, however, remain closed ostensibly because of the brutality meted out to it by the Denkyira Obuasi mob.
The military colleagues of the late Major Mahama saluted as the filed past the remains.
Other Ghanaians bowed before the coffin as they filed past, with some of them breaking into tears.
Even Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku, cut a sombre figure as he filed past the remains of the fallen soldier.
Several top figures, including Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia and former president John Dramani Mahama are attending the burial.
