Forgive us for killing Major Mahama – Denkyira-Obuasi residents cry out

- The people of Denkyira-Obuasi, are pleading with the family of the late Major Mahama and the entire Ghana Army to forgive their people for killing the officer

- The community have currently gathered, mourning the late soldier at the exact spot where he was lynched

Some residents of Denkyira-Obuasi are pleading with the family of the late Major Mahama, the Ghana Army and the entire nation to forgive their people for the barbaric act visited on the young officer leading to his untimely death.

Late Maxwell Mahama's funeral underway

Currently, information reaching YEN.com.gh suggests that, the community have gathered mourning the late Major at the exact spot where the irate youth lynched and charred his body.

Clad in red and black attire with bereaved faces, the leader of the gathering pleaded “‘they should forgive us for the heinous crime our people have committed, we are sorry,” as he addresses the gathering.

He also advised the gathering mainly children and the very few youth around; assuring that such heinous crime will never occur on their land again.

The soldier who was with the 4th Battalion Unit at Burma Camp was gruesomely murdered by some irate youth in Denkyira-Obuasi after accusing him of being an armed robber.

The burial service of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama is currently underway at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.

He will be laid to rest at the Osu Military cemetery.

More than 46 suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the killing.
