The family of the late Major Maxwell A. Mahama has asked that the Tema Roundabout be named after the slain army officer.
The family also asked that a monument be build in his honor at the same location.
According to a Joy FM report, the uncle of the deceased officer, Emmanuel Bamford said that the family had talked about it and were in agreement.
He also stated that the family had already presented their request to the government, and was waiting to hear from them.
According to Mr. Bamford, any one of the residents from Denkyira-Obuasi town could have been celebrated as hero, but they failed to stand up against the mob.
Major Maxwell Mahama was killed on May 29 by an irate mob in Denkyira-Obuasi, after they mistook him for an armed robber.
He was given a state burial today at the forecourt of the State House in Accra, where several members of the public and many national stakeholders came to pay their final respects.
