The National Democratic Congress’s Minority Leader in Parliament said on Accra-based television network TV3, that he is still “nurturing his political future”.
“It is clear [Haruna Iddrisu] has an important future in Ghanaian politics”, the president stated.
The NDC stalwart thanked the President and said that Nana Addo had increased his “my political share value” after the commendation.
Haruna Iddrisu stated that Nana Addo’s statements about him were rather “brutally frank and courageous statement”.
He, however, noted that his political future has been left to “the Grace of God”.
“My role now is to be Minority Leader, to galvanise the party in Parliament to provide a credible, constructive opposition that positions the [NDC] as a credible alternative to government,” he told the show host.
Most Ghanaians have earlier stated that Haruna Iddrisu is a possibly presidential candidate for the NDC in 2020.
