Ghanaian musician, Sarkodie, has come under a barrage of attacks from members of the Krobo ethnic group in Ghana over the past few days.
According to the aggrieved Krobo people, some lyrics in a new song featuring Sarkodie were insulting to them.
The Krobo people are an ethnic group in Ghana.
They are grouped as part of Ga-Adangbe ethnolinguistic group and they are also the largest group of the seven Dangme ethnic groups of Southeastern Ghana.
In the song, “Jessica Lomotey” by Kurl Songx featuring Sarkodie, the rapper referred to Jennifer Lomotey as a Krobo girl who was cursed with fornication by Okomfo Anokye.
The line has angered many Krobos, who have called on Sarkodie to apologise.
However, the artiste, who is arguably Ghana’s highest grossing act, has stated that he was not “insulting” any Krobo.
Speaking on a Onua FM, the producer said that Sarkodie stated that his partner, Tracy Sarkcess is a Krobo person just as his daughter, Titi is.
Kaywa revealed that the Sarkodie management has been meeting over the issue and will find the best way forward.
According to him, a “clean version”of the song, which does not feature the “insulting” lyrics will be released soon.
