The event, which was organized MALZ Promotions, was held at the Carbon Night Club in Airport City, in Accra and slated to take place on September 2nd. Sulley Muntari attendance at the event can be seen as a form of support for his wife, Mrs. Menaye Donkor Muntari, who happens to be the National Director of the Miss Universe Ghana beauty pageant.
It would be remembered that almost two weeks ago Mrs. Muntari postponed the event's launch because Sulley Muntari lost his father after a long battle with an yet unconfirmed illness.
“Sorry to inform you that due to the death of my father in law, the Press Launch event scheduled for June 1st has been postponed to the 8th of June. I am deeply sorry for any inconveniences. Thank you for your continuous support. I still look forward to seeing you,” announced the Ghanaian midfielder's wife.

Speaking at the event on June 8th, Mrs. Muntari said that for young woman, representing Ghana at the Miss Universe competition is an "important honor", especially this year as Ghana celebrates its 60th Independence Anniversary. She said that the competition has provided the opportunity for Ghana to showcase it's beauty, fashion, and style to the world.
Mrs. Menaye Donkor Muntari - now the competition's National Director - has herself previously won the competition in 20014, and continued on to represent Ghana at the global Miss Universe event in Quito, Ecuador.
“The Miss Universe Ghana 2017, which has coincided with Ghana @ 60 will truly be a celebration of Ghana!" added the event's national director.
