Hundreds of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters thronged to the Ashaiman Mandela Park in the Greater Accra Region for a rally to mark the party’s 25th-anniversary celebration.
Founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings, former president John Dramani Mahama, general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia among other top party executives were at the gathering.
Addressing the party supporters gathered, former president, John Dramani Mahama urged members of the party to put behind them the election 2016 defeat to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the former president, in life, it doesn’t matter how many times one falls but “…how you survive and make new impact”.
“ [He opined that the party must] stop crying over spilt milk and instead think of how to get new milk to enjoy.”
On his part, the founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings said the party must adhere to its core principles of “probity and accountability”.
