- The NDC general secretary has said that Ghanaians regret choosing the NPP during the 2016 elections
- He stated the incompetence of the ruling government has many Ghanaians denying voting for them
-He added the NPP government will be prepare their handover notes in 2020
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, has said that Ghanaians now wish they never voted for the New Patriotic Party.
According to him, the citizens are distraught by the show of bad leadership, that they now deny choosing the new government in last year's general elections.
Speaking to the crowd at the National Democratic Congress' Silver Jubilee rally in Ashaiman, Mr. Nketiah mocked the Akufo-Addo administration with a story depicting how they would end up being a one term government.
"An incompetent president was once given three envelopes to read by a wise man when things became difficult for him. In the first year when things were hard, the envelope had the inscription blame the past government. In the second year when things were even more difficult, the letter in the envelope instructed him to blame the international community.”
By the third year getting to the fourth, when things were completely out control, the incompetent President opened the envelope only to read prepare your handover notes," he said.
The NDC secretary further scoffed at the new administration's constant blame on the previous government for the current challenges facing the country.
He added that it should not come as a surprise if the NPP government blamed the next half of the year's problems on the NDC.

Meanwhile, at the NDC's rally, Former President Rawlings joked that Asiedu Nketiah was not good-looking enough to be made the party's flagbearer in 2020.
"..it is a pity he [ Asiedu Nketia ] is ugly...If he were handsome, we would put him on a horse to go and help. Considering how light he is like air, the horse will run faster," Rawlings joked.
The rally was held on Sunday, June 11 and was attended by all the NDC bigwigs across the country, and drew a massive crowd of party supporters.
