Photos: Terrible accident occurs on NI Highway in Accra

YEN.com.gh understands that a terrible accident has occurred on the George Walker Bush Motorway in Accra.

The accident, which involved what appeared to be a Toyota Rav 4 vehicle, happened on Monday.

YEN.com.gh understands that the vehicle was being driven by a young lady, who was removed from the wreckage and sent to the hospital.

Social user, KB William, shared photos of the wrecked car on Facebook and called for prayers for the affected lady.

"Please pray for the soul of the lady involved in this gory accident I just witnessed on the George Bush N1 Road. She has been taken to the hospital.

"Speed kills", that's not just a mantra, it is reality! Life is already complicated, don't superimpose unnecessary complications on it. Watch your speed!!" he wrote.

YEN.com.gh could not verify KB William's assertion that the accident's victim had been speeding.

The severe damage suffered by the vehicle, however, suggests that it somersaulted, possibly several times.

It had been raining in Accra all morning, but it was not clear if the rain impacted the accident in any way.

Social media users, who were shocked by the photos of the car's wreckage, prayed for the affected lady to survive.
