- There has been a major shortfall in power generation in the Western Power Enclave
- No official reason has so far been given for the major power outage
Most parts of Ghana had their power cut off between 7 pm and 8:30pm Monday evening.
According to YEN’s sources, the power outage in parts of the country was due to a major shortfall in power generation in the Western Power Enclave (Aboadze, Western region).
Our sources also revealed that the Aboadze power plant generates the biggest chunk of the nation's power.
The areas affected by the outage include Accra, Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi and the Northern regions.
Laos checks on social media showed that the Eastern and Volta regions were also affected by the power outage.
This is the second time that the country has experienced a major blackout in the last two months.
Power has been restored to most parts of the country by the time the story was published. This is what Ghanaians are saying on social media about the power outage.
