Policeman shot dead by two gunmen

- Constable Michael Kporyi was shot dead by suspected gunmen

- According to eyewitnesses, the deceased who was in police uniform was seen on a motorbike with registration number GP 4350 with an AK47 rifle across the chest

A Policeman has tragically lost his life after he was shot dead by armed robbers.

The Policeman, identified as Constable Michael Kporyi, was gunned down by armed robbers while he was on duty at Michel Camp.

The incident which happened at around 9:30 pm Monday night comes at a time when the nation has been plagued by security issues, with the lynching of the late Major Mahama and another Police officer who was also shot by his colleagues mistakenly.

The deceased Constable is reported to have been riding a motorbike around Michel Camp when he was shot by two armed men who were also riding closely behind him.

The robbers are reported to have shot the police officer after realising he had an AK47 rifle on him.

A backup team from the Tulaku Old Barrier checkpoint got to the scene only to find their colleague dead, with gun wounds on his chest and eyebrows.

Constable Kporyi’s body has since been deposited at the Police hospital, with investigations to commence soon.
