The police are still searching for 12 suspects who allegedly shot at the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama while he was running for his dear life.
So far the police have on remand 52 persons who played various roles in the lynching of the military officer who was mistaken for an armed robber by residents of Denkyira Obuasi on May 29.

According to Director-General of the CID, DCOP Bright Oduro, the 12 people on the run are seen in the video wielding guns and firing at the soldier.
“… some were also seen in the video evidence rushing to buy petrol and subsequently setting the body of the soldier ablaze.”
The police gave the names of the 12 suspects as Yaw Amankwa, alias Bulla; Akwesi Asante; Nana Kwadjo, alias Nana Edjo; John Boakye, Unit Committee Member, and a trader whose name was given only as Sarah, married to Kwaku Brefo, a motorbike rider in the town.
The rest are Kwaku Diesel, Kaya Rasta and the rest whose names were given only as Daddy, Boadu, Ahinkra, Tikwa and Attipar.
The police are admonishing the suspects to turn themselves in at the CID headquarters or the nearest police station.
The late Major Mahama was given a state burial on June 9, 2017. he left behind a wife and two boys.
