Residents of Agavedzi and Blekusu in the Volta Region have been rendered homeless after tidal waves washed through the communities.
Photos which were sent to YEN.com.gh by a resident of Blekusu showed the extent of the destruction.
The lady, Edinam Avadetsi, told YEN that the tidal wave that hit the area on 11th June was unlike any other experience in the area before.
The tidal waves affected Ankaful, and other suburbs ,Saltpond, Nankesedo, Kormantse, Abandze and Anomabo.
They are therefore calling the government for support.
Some residents especially fisher folk, are counting their losses other tried to retrieve their belongings through the flood.
The Dufia of Agavedzi, Togbue Akponoguia is also appealing to government for the sea defence to protect the coast from the ravages of the waves.
Meanwhile, Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu South, Hon. Eliot Agbenorwu has assured the people the government will support.
One particular area called Adjapranya in the Sege constituency in Ada West Municipality have also been affected by this disaster.
The situation has dragged more rubbish to their end and has destroyed a lot of properties.
Coastal areas in the Volta region have been at the mercy of the rising tides in recent times with communities like Horve Havedzi, Dzita, Whuti, Srogboe and Anyanui been affected badly.
