YEN.com.gh has learnt that Socrates Safo, a filmaker, has been appointed the director of creative acts for projects and programmes at the National Commission on Culture.
Safo was a crucial supporter of Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2016 elections.
He is said to have helped Akufo-Addo arrange meetings with entertainment personalities in order to solicit their support.
Fans of Safo had initially called on the government to make him the deputy minister for tourism, but their campaign did not see the light of day.
A report by entertainmentgh.com said Safo had received his appointment letter from the Flagstaff House and that the film producer had begun working.
The report said safo had put together programmes such as the ZongoFest, Ghana Wear Fair and the Harvest@17 project.
Safo has produced several local movie, including Hot Fork, which was very controversial.
