Police have arrested members of the gang which they say was responsible for killing Constable Michael Kporyi of the Ghana Police Service at Michel Camp in Accra on Monday.
Police say they shot and killed one Dogo America who threatened their men with a submachine gun when they arrived at his house in Ashaiman to arrest him.
Five people, including the wife of Dogo America, were arrested in the police operation.
A submachine gun with 20 rounds of ammunition and three AK 47 assault rifles with 12 rounds of ammunition and other deadly weapons were also retrieved by police.
Constable Kporyi, according to police, was shot by two men riding an unregistered motorbike on Monday night while was was patrolling Michel Camp, a military barracks.
The policeman was on his own police-issued motorbike when he was shot dead.
It was after his killing that police traced his suspected killers to a house in Ashaiman and killed Dogo America, while arresting five other suspects.
News of the suspects' arrest has been well-received on social media.
