- Ghanaian business owners will only promise and fail you
- According actress Yvonne Nelson her glaucoma foundation is struggling because there is nobody to support her financially
Actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson has described Ghanaian companies and business owners as stingy.
According to her coming up close to businesses in Ghana has showed her how unsupportive the average Ghanaian business owner is.
Speaking to Accra-based 3news.com, Yvonne said she has received ‘empty’ pledges and promises from businesses to support her glaucoma foundation after she launched in 2010 but the promises are yet to be fulfilled.
She added she had to personal support persons affected by glaucoma with her personal money sometimes.
“I remember when I launched it, a lot of companies came out and said we are going to support you, this and that but till date nobody has.
“Ghanaian companies are stingy; they will promise you and fail and make you talk, talk, talk sit down with the best proposal in the world but will just not take you seriously. The challenges we are having with the glaucoma foundation is money because we don’t have money to do anything,” she said in the interview.
Yvonne Nelson also pleaded with the government and the health ministry to pay some attention to persons affected by glaucoma, especially those in the villages.
The Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation (YNGF) was launched in 2010 in association with the Glaucoma Association of Ghana to educate the public on the causes, treatment and prevention of the disease, among other objectives.
