-Family members of 78-year old Anthony Owusu Adomako believe he was killed
-The family say murder was as a result of a business deal
-Police in the area are yet to launch a full-scale investigation into the matter
On Monday, around 11 PM, proprietor of Kumasi-based Coconut Guest House, Mr. Anthony Owusu Adomako was stabbed by a masked assailant in the lobby of the guest house. The assailant’s victim died unfortunately upon reaching the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He died as a result of the several knife wounds.
Family members of the 78-year old business man believe that he was murdered by his business partner who happens to be a top business man in Kumasi.
The family of the deceased recounted that prior to the death of Mr. Adomako, he had an altercation with the top business man whose name is yet to be released. According to them, Mr. Adomako recounted that the top business man wanted to cheat him out of a business deal.
According to the 52-year old receptionist of the guest house, the assailant led Mr. Anthony Owusu Adomako to the lobby of the hotel from his office and stabbed him several times.
The receptionist in a bid to get help for Mr. Adomako locked up the guest house and went in search of help; leaving both the assailant and the victim inside the guest house.
The family of the deceased however believed the death of Mr. Adomako was the work of hired hands.
They reported the issue to the police and cited the top businessman as the prime suspect in the murder.
ASP Juliana Obeng, Public Relations Officer at the Ashanti Regional Command has acknowledged receipt of the report by family members and said they are working with the clues that have been provided by the family.
She said they are keeping the information provided them under wraps until they have enough evidence to act.
As it stands now, the Coconut Guest House is on lockdown with investigations ongoing.
The top business mogul is believed to be very popular in the Kumasi Metropolis. According to family members of the deceased, the top businessman is the owner of many business in Kumasi and other parts of the country.
